Lucario is also bachelor as an unlockable character in Super Smash Bros. Brawl. It is unlocked when it is met in the Subspace Emissary, or past playing a certain amount of VS matches. About of its attacks are imbued with aura. Ironically, Lucario does not use whatever moves similar Metal Claw, but uses its downward nail in a fashion similar to Dark Pulse.
Lucario's attacks in Brawl are:
- Standard Special - Aura Sphere
- Side Special - Force Palm
- Up Special - Farthermost Speed
- Downward Special - Double Team
- Final Smash - Aura Storm
Subspace Emissary
Lucario's appearance in the story mode The Subspace Emissary is fairly late in the game. Lucario meditates atop an icy peak when he is approached past Meta Knight, who has climbed the mountain aslope the Ice Climbers to reach his stolen ship the Halberd, which is approaching. Lucario challenges Meta Knight to a fight, and the thespian chooses one or the other to play equally in the duel. The winner revives the other, and the two of them become friends. Lucario joins Meta Knight in Infiltrating the Halberd, where he discovers Solid Serpent hiding in a cardboard box. Meta Knight then gets ready to fight Ophidian, simply Lucario senses that Snake is a good guy, and halts Meta Knight from attacking Serpent. Lucario also senses enemies nearby and signals Snake to join the at present-trio.
Lucario is next seen fighting a false Peach and a false Zelda fabricated from Shadow Bugs. Meta Knight, Lucario, and Snake defeat the false princesses and set up the real ones free. Lucario also aids Play tricks, Falco, Zelda, Peach, and Serpent in the boxing against Duon, while Meta Knight reclaims the send.
Subsequently this, he joins the others to boxing Master Paw in subspace. Nonetheless it is revealed that a powerful creature named Tabuu had been manipulating Chief Hand and his assembly. He uses his Off Waves to turn all heroes into trophies (except Ganondorf, whom he used a unlike set on to beat), Bowser (who was trophified past Ganondorf), Master Hand (who is defeated by Tabuu but is not turned into a trophy) and anyone who is already a bays. King Dedede'southward pins bring back Luigi and Ness (who in turn revive King Dedede) and Kirby, who is separate from them only comes back considering he ate one of King Dedede's pins. Rex Dedede convinces Bowser to help them, while Link and Zelda (if found) bring back Ganondorf who goes to fight Tabuu. If Lucario is saved he will become to the Neat Maze to battle the heroes' shadow clones (of every hero who is in subspace excluding Sheik (another form used by Zelda), Goose egg Adjust Samus (Samus is wearing her power conform when she enters subspace) and Red's Squirtle and Ivysaur (when used he e'er starts with Charizard in story mode)), any bosses that accept been fought and Tabuu himself. Afterward they brand information technology to Tabuu he is weakened by the devastation of his wings (past Sonic) which prevents him from turning everyone into trophies. When defeated Tabuu is destroyed and the world returns (except the floating island considering and so many bombs went off in i surface area, and so close together).
Quotes
Lucario is able to seemingly speak English in Super Boom Bros. Brawl and oddly doesn't say its name like other Pokémon as it is really using telepathy to communicate through its thoughts.
- "Watch the ability of Aura!" — using his Final Smash
- "It's not over!"
- "Behold the Aura!"
- "The Aura is mine!"

Nintendo 3DS / Wii U
Lucario returns in the side by side Super Boom Bros. sequel called Super Smash Bros. for Nintendo 3DS / Wii U, it appears every bit a default character. His Last Smash is Mega Evolving, similar to Charizard.
Is a playable character in Super Smash Bros. 4. It was announced on January 31, 2014, six years to the day of the twelvemonth that Super Smash Bros. Brawl was released in Japan; according to an extra post on the Miiverse reveal, this timing was done to commend the Brawl developers for succeeding in adding Lucario to said game.
Lucario possesses a unique power that no other character in the game has: aura. Aureola appears as blue concentrated energy, and is used in every single move Lucario performs. Equally a mechanic, aureola is a harm multiplier, starting from 0.66x and capping at i.7x when Lucario has taken 190% damage. This ways that, even though well-nigh of Lucario's moves have high knockback growth, their power is extremely depression with depression aura, and insufficient to KO until well beyond 150%. Nonetheless, with loftier aureola, Lucario's moves have incredible power, with many of them easily surpassing every other character's at max aura. In add-on, with the introduction of the rage mechanic, Lucario's attacks deal even more knockback, complimenting their already loftier power. Its grab game receives huge benefits as well. Since Lucario's pummel is the fastest in the game, information technology can bargain big amounts of damage at high percents. Its up throw has low base knockback, and can combo effectively at nigh percents. It is too the virtually damaging and one of the strongest when Lucario's aureola is high, making up for its increased power. Its forward throw is the fastest throw in the game, as well equally the third strongest with high aureola. Its dorsum throw is very powerful, and too a semi-spike, making it excellent for edgeguarding and tech-chasing.
Other strengths of Lucario include a very useful special moveset. Aura Sphere is a potent projectile very similar to Samus' Charge Shot. Even so, since its size and power are affected by aura, information technology is much more than dangerous at high percents. Its high damage output when fully powered up besides lets information technology out prioritize near moves in the game. Force Palm shoots a smash of aura forrad, with its range and power increasing with aura. If used at point-blank range, the motion is treated as a grab, bypassing shields, and has immense power with enough aura. Farthermost Speed is Lucario's recovery move, and is able to cover extremely long distances if Lucario has taken much damage, making it impossible to gimp. Information technology can besides launch opponents that get striking caput-on. Finally, Double Team is Lucario's counterattack. Information technology is the strongest counter in the game with enough aura while possessing plenty of range, simply information technology's also the slowest, since any opponent that is not in hitlag will most probable avoid it.
However, Lucario has significant flaws. Despite possessing above boilerplate weight, its endurance is below average at best. The rest of its stats do non help information technology at all, equally they arrive vulnerable to combos, and one strong move is usually all it takes to terminate Lucario, preventing it from utilizing aura finer after information technology gets knocked out. Its combo game is also heavily reliant on throws, as most other combo moves have either very limited follow-up options or awkwardly positioned hitboxes. Its most serious flaw, however, is its polarized moveset. Its fastest moves are the weakest, and its strongest moves are the slowest, making the latter very punishable. Lucario's aura tin can also piece of work against it. With depression aura, its powerful moves are as well weak to KO, and with loftier aura, its combo-oriented moves are besides stiff to be chained together. This makes information technology imperative to keep in heed how Lucario's attacks function depending on percent, as it cannot afford to make mistakes at higher percentages. Information technology also restricts Lucario to using a "bait-and-punish" playstyle, as it cannot perform rushdowns without getting punished most of the time. Finally, Extreme Speed has numerous flaws. The motility is difficult to hit with, since Lucario can only impairment the opponent head-on, without having very high power to compensate. In addition, it has high catastrophe lag and, unless Lucario grabs the ledge or lands earlier the motility is concluded, very high landing lag. With low aura, the move is also very slow and doesn't grant much distance, while at high aureola, it is possible to overshoot the stage if Lucario isn't careful.
Special moveset
- Neutral Special: Aura Sphere: A chargeable, condensed sphere of aura. Pressing the special push button over again will brand Lucario throw information technology. Increases in size and deals more damage the more harm Lucario has.
- Custom Neutral Special 1: Snaring Aura Sphere: Slower, but has a vacuum outcome that pulls opponents toward the Aura Sphere itself. Has actress ending lag deals slightly less damage. Two uncharged Snaring Aura Spheres can exist on-screen at the aforementioned fourth dimension.
- Custom Neutral Special 2: Piercing Aura Sphere: Faster and passes through opponents, but deals considerably less damage.
- Side Special: Force Palm: Fires a stream of aura that increases in range the more than damaged Lucario is. If the opponent is close to Lucario, the move acts similar a grab, with Lucario grabbing the opponent and so hitting them with an aura-infused palm thrust at point-bare range.
- Custom Side Special 1: Advancing Force Palm: Functions similarly to Force Palm, merely it moves Lucario forward, has more start-up and deals slightly less damage.
- Custom Side Special 2: Long-Distance Force Palm: Has more than range, only deals less damage.
- Up Special: Extreme Speed: Launches itself in a predetermined direction by blasting steams of aura from its paws. Has a hitbox at end of the motility. Like Strength Palm's boom range, Extreme Speed's range increases the more damaged Lucario is.
- Custom Up Special 1: Ride The Current of air: Slower and deals no damage, but grants more control over Lucario's trajectory.
- Custom Up Special ii: Extreme Speed Attack: Has less range, but amercement opponents at whatsoever point information technology makes contact with them.
- Downwardly Special: Double Team: Performs a kata. If Lucario is attacked, it will disappear and counterattack with a flying kick from behind the assailant.
- Custom Downward Special 1: Glancing Counter: Dodges attacks but allows Lucario to produce a hitbox, albeit a weaker ane, even if information technology is non attacked.
- Custom Down Special 2: Stunning Double Team: Functions similarly to Double Team, with the added event of being able to stun opponents. However, it deals considerably less damage.
- Terminal Smash: Mega Lucario: Mega Evolves into Mega Lucario. Mega Lucario'southward aura multiplier is increased to 1.8x regardless of how much damage it had prior to Mega Evolving and it gains resistance to both flinching and launching throughout its duration. Its elapsing decreases if damage is taken during this transformation.
Super Smash Bros Ultimate
Lucario returns in Super Nail Bros Ultimate where he was amongst the many fighters that opposed Galeem. He was vaporized and imprisoned by the Lord of Light. He can be freed then the histrion tin play him against Galeem and Dharkon.
Lucario'southward final smash is dorsum to Aura storm but Mega Evolves upon activation of the Final Boom.

Origin
Lucario's appearance may be aesthetically based on the Egyptian god of expiry, Anubis, who has the caput of a jackal. It may also be inspired by Hermanubis, a hybrid of ii gods who were "conductors of souls" and was engaged with the investigation of truth. The mask effectually its eyes may be derived from the tanuki or raccoon dog, usually believed to have supernatural powers in Japanese mythology.
Though Lucario physically resembles a dog or type of canine more, information technology has a few catlike traits. For example, Lucario has slit eyes, every bit most house cats exercise. It's also possible that information technology has retractile claws, equally it can learn attacks such as Metal Claw, Strop Claws, and Shadow Claw. Its agility and balance match that of felines. In Super Smash Bros. Brawl, information technology is shown perched on a very thin piece of water ice, then swiftly jumps down, landing on its anxiety.
Its shiny form can be directly linked to the African golden jackal.
Etymology
Lucario's name peradventure derives from a part of the word orichalcum in Japanese (oriharukon), when spelled backwards. Orichalcum is a legendary metal and might accept a relation to Lucario, since information technology is a Steel -blazon Pokémon. Another less probable theory is that office of Lucario's proper name could be based on the Egyptian uppercase city, Cairo. The "rio" in its name may also be a reference to Street Fighter's Ryu, as they both have similar signature moves (Ryu has the Hadōken while Lucario has Aureola Sphere (Japanese: Hadōdan)), both existence blue energy balls launched from both hands at once. It may as well derive from oracle, referring to its aureola abilities.
